BREAKING- Ekozian broadcaster, STE, today shockingly announced that the country would once again participate in the 53rd WorldVision Song Contest after previously announcing that the broadcaster planned to move away from international broadcasting to focus on the quality of national programming however it has been revealed that MelodieFestivålen winner Hafthor Viktorsson, 25, will represent the country with his winning single Where We Belong.
Ekoz previously fully participated in the 50th edition of the contest, finishing 11th, their second lowest placing since the country’s debut in WorldVision 32. Media reactions to the STE’s announcement differ from outlet to outlet, many describing the broadcasters erratic change of stance in regards to participation of the contest. Public opinion to the contest has dramatically declined in recent editions with a viewership of 51.2% (33,210,923) watching the 50th edition; WorldVision 40 received a viewership of 89.98% (57,230,123). A spokesperson for the WorldVision delegation at the STE stated…
“The STE never conclusively announced that Ekoz would never return to the contest, it was just a case of when is best appropriate. The STE has taken on board the public attitude towards returning and feel it is precisely the right time to return, and the most recent winner of MelodieFestivålen, Hafthor, is a perfect representative for our country. It’s time to get the ratings of the contest back to where they were previously, and we are extremely confident that we will.”
With Ekoz returning, this is only one of the many nations who are returning to the contest.
Kårnis, Ekoese – According to early and unconfirmed reports from sources, the STE are reportedly debating whether or not to renew the contract to broadcast the WorldVision Song Contest. The current contract, which has seen the country participate in over 17 editions of the contest, will be up for renewal after the 50th WorldVision Song Contest.
Sources state “While the STE is aware that the contest has great relevance and ratings within the country, the broadcaster are looking for newer ways in which to invest in entertainment programming within the borders, as opposed to from an international contest.” Debates are said to be going on within the boardrooms of the STE HQ’s in central Carnise and decision is pending.
Should the STE choose not to renew the broadcasting rights, it is unsure if any of the other major Ekozian television stations will pick up to rights; Ønavaliekkes televisie (ØT) are ‘would-be’ favourites to pick up the rights as they previously held broadcasting rights for the World Hit Festival, which interestingly, the STE now has rights for, however a spokesperson for ØT stated “ØT has no immediate interest in broadcasting the WorldVision Song Contest.”
According to an early online poll, a total of 63 per cent of the voters wanted the STE to continue broadcasting the contest, as opposed to 37 per cent wanting the country to exit from the contest outright. The STE is, of course, yet to confirm whether or not these rumours are false or not, however, for Ekozian WorldVision fans, a lot of uncertainty remains.

In addition to participation in the 49th WorldVision Song Contest, preparations at RTVK headquarters are in full swing for the 50th WorldVision Song Contest. Kalosia intends to hold a show in our country to celebrate 50 editions of the festival.
Further details regarding this event will be announced later as the 50th contest approaches, however for now we would like to request the following from you:
— Which edition/s you have hosted WorldVision with, only after WorldVision 43 (i.e. Rokkestaat, Ekoz does not need to be mentioned as it was host to WorldVision 40)
— The name of the city/ies you have hosted the aforementioned edition(s) of WorldVision with, both in English and your national or most widespoken language
— The RL place that the aforementioned city/ies and/or venue is based on (e.g. Kasin, Kalosia is based on Marseilles FRA, except unlike the latter, it is landlocked. Another example, Monterra, Kalosia is based on Toronto CND, but the venue that hosted WV27 is based on the Khan Shatyr building in Astana KAZ)
— The theme of the aforementioned contest(s) that were hosted in your country, in English
We wish to collect this information as soon as possible, in order to make our preparations more efficient.
The Nation is also asking for nations to provide the word “Welcome” in their national, local language.
Eyler looks out to the world and isn’t afraid to show what he has.
Here is what Ekoz released today;
Eyler Vålgaard was night announced winner of MelodieFestivålen with a whopping 56% of the public and jury vote. The former Ekozian rugby-union player successfully fought off nine other contestants to win the contest and will thus represent Ekoz at the 47th WorldVision Song Contest in a soon-to-be announced candidate city, of which, Carnise is one of.
Eyler stated “It’s incredible. There were so many big production value performances at Mello this year. I was just there with my guitar singing. I never thought I would win!”. When asked about his performance at WorldVision he stated “I think I won’t change too much. I’d rather be authentic to myself. Plus, it’d be nice to a more stripped performance. Ekoz usually sends a huge production and I’d like to hopefully get votes from my voice and my guitar. We’ll see”
Eyler’s winning single Vertigo has shot straight to the top of the Ekozian iTunes chart after only two hours of being released and is predicted to debut at number one on the Ekoesestoplistan later in the week.

It may be a hit in Ekoz, but is it good enough regionally and internationally? He will be performing 7th in the Previous Party by BVC in Junteräpten.
They, STE, told us that THIS is coming soon…
Meanwhile, Talvezout prepare their bid for the contest only 3 editions after the last hosted. Their slogan is “Express Yourself” but will the bid be enough to beat Ekoz? AKA 100% winning bids record.
It has been announced that Ekoz will join Britonisea in the pre-party which is taking place in Junteräpten later this month. The pre-party was made to advertise the acts while also giving them experience in a packed arena. (Around 8,000 people)
