Hosted by the dashing Andars Kristianson, Ekoz’s Melodiefestivalen was back on the screens in their country to select their winner who will represent them in the upcoming WorldVision 54, which could be held in their own country. STE showed how well they can host a music competition during their Melfest as they came with superb camera shot and high quality sound equipment. However, only one performance could win, and that was Thor’s, Thor Rikkardson.
You can see here that Melodie (Song) 4 won with a 7 point gap, with Danjel Dintarvaan coming last with 20 points. Tell us, where do you think Ekoz will place in WorldVision 54? Will they do better than WorldVision 53?

According to sources at Sony Music Ekoz, the huge Ekozian popstar-turned-host Yohanna van Umsaak, responsible for Ekoz’s highest placing at the WorldVision Song Contest, will return to the hugely popular STE show ‘MelodieFestivålen’ next month. Yohanna achieved a 2nd place finish with only two points between her and the eventual winners, Cinderella Ra’ah from Kishrael.
Sony Music Ekoz neither confirmed or denied that Yohanna would return, however they did confirm that she would be releasing music on the same date of the final of MelodieFestivålen; something that all artists are required to do as a rule of the contest. Yohanna’s last release ‘Cool Me Down’ reached number two in the Ekoesestoplistann as well as charting internationally.

Eyler looks out to the world and isn’t afraid to show what he has.
Here is what Ekoz released today;
Eyler Vålgaard was night announced winner of MelodieFestivålen with a whopping 56% of the public and jury vote. The former Ekozian rugby-union player successfully fought off nine other contestants to win the contest and will thus represent Ekoz at the 47th WorldVision Song Contest in a soon-to-be announced candidate city, of which, Carnise is one of.
Eyler stated “It’s incredible. There were so many big production value performances at Mello this year. I was just there with my guitar singing. I never thought I would win!”. When asked about his performance at WorldVision he stated “I think I won’t change too much. I’d rather be authentic to myself. Plus, it’d be nice to a more stripped performance. Ekoz usually sends a huge production and I’d like to hopefully get votes from my voice and my guitar. We’ll see”
Eyler’s winning single Vertigo has shot straight to the top of the Ekozian iTunes chart after only two hours of being released and is predicted to debut at number one on the Ekoesestoplistan later in the week.

It may be a hit in Ekoz, but is it good enough regionally and internationally? He will be performing 7th in the Previous Party by BVC in Junteräpten.
After the hype of “Vha Mehlodhivestoile” is over, one of the contest’s most well known (if not, the most anticipated) National Final Starts. MelodieFestivålen! In a bulletin that came out today, it has been announced that we will be able to vote on April 18th but it has not yet been confirmed when voting closes. Ekozian media outlets criticise the nation as they think the nation has being doing enough in order to win the WorldVision Song Contest – regardless of their perfect rankings. If you thought that MelodieFestivålen would only have one problem, you are wrong. Apparently this edition, only 1 female is participating against a testosterone filled army of nine men. Anja Nissør, a spokeswoman for MelodieFestivålen responded;
“the equal representation of the population, including gender is a huge part of our selection process. Over 60 per cent of the producers and writers of all ten songs are female, it just so happens that only on performer is female. The important thing is the song at the end of the day, because that’s what will get Ekoz to the top of the leaderboard. I’m happy and content that the STE has done a good job at selecting current songs to represent the country“
