There have been unconfirmed rumours that the parent organisation behind Explosive News is planning to bid for a Worldvision Song Contest ”within the next few editions”.
With Ethane having been in Worldvision since WV43, having now competed in 4 Worldvision’s and 2 World Hit Festivals, going into their 5th and 3rd of each of those respectively, the rumour machine has begun to turn. After hosting the fairly successful (but small) previous World Hit Festival, there have been rumours spreading that the nation’s main broadcaster, ENTV, which had parts recently rebranded to Explosive News, in a bid to diversify, is in talks to consider hosting an upcoming edition of the Worldvision song contest.
An unconfirmed source has said that ”the nation is in the right spirit for another song contest. We should be bidding for this, and I cannot see why we could not in the next few editions, considering our strong finances at this moment in time, and the popularity of music in this nation.”
With the semi-centennial edition of the Worldvision song contest coming up, Worldvision fans have been getting hyped up by the possibility of a bid within the ”next few editions”, because that time period includes the 50th edition, to mark a proud time in Worldvision history. One fan said that ”I would pay the world to have the worldvision song contest in Ethane”, while another said that ”this would be the best thing Ethane has ever had”.
However, some still remain sceptical about the possibility of a bid soon. An unnamed government official said that ”Explosive News staff and ENTV staff have not approached us about any possible bid, which suggests that these may just be rumours”. Some fans were disappointed by this statement from the government, but many still remain optimistic about the possibility of a bid for worldvision in the semi-centennial edition, or around that time.
We have approached the head bosses at ENTV for clarification on these rumours, but we have not yet heard anything back from up top yet.
